About this app
McLaughlin Golf operates McLaughlin Golf Operations (Meta App ID 1637062631367098) to manage its own Facebook Page, Instagram account and advertising. This notice covers information processed through that integration. Purchases and use of our online store are covered by the store's separate privacy policy.
Information we process
Depending on the functions enabled and permissions granted, we process:
- Business account, Page and Instagram identifiers, usernames and profile information needed to connect the correct accounts.
- Social content and related information, such as captions, media, post links, timestamps, comments, replies, mentions and publicly available professional-account information returned by Meta.
- Advertising and social performance information, such as campaign settings, spending, reach and engagement statistics.
- Publication records, proposed responses, review feedback and operational logs used to verify actions and prevent duplicate activity.
- When inbox features are enabled, messages you send to our business accounts, sender identifiers and information needed to respond. Inbox automation is not currently operational through this integration.
- Information you provide when requesting support, access, correction or deletion.
Meta controls which information its services make available. A permission being available does not mean every corresponding feature is active.
How we use information
We use this information to operate our business social accounts, prepare and publish content, evaluate performance, research relevant public content, respond to inquiries and comments when supported, protect account access, and investigate errors. We use AI-assisted tools to analyze relevant content and prepare responses. Public posts and replies are visible to their platform audience; direct-message content is not intended for public publication.
Service providers and disclosure
Relevant content and results may be processed through OpenAI's Codex/ChatGPT services as part of our AI-assisted workflow, as well as Meta's services. We store working records on business-controlled devices and may retain them in task histories and operational backups. Public media selected for publishing may be hosted through Shopify so Meta can retrieve it. We do not use that public-media hosting process for private messages.
Access is limited to authorized operators and service providers needed for these functions. Information may also be disclosed where legally required. Meta, OpenAI and Shopify operate their own services under their respective terms and privacy policies; deletion from our records does not itself delete records those providers independently control.
Storage and retention
Integration credentials are stored in macOS Keychain and are not intended to appear in ordinary reports or public content. Other operational data can be retained in local files, task histories and backups. No security method eliminates all risk.
We retain personal information only while needed for the purposes described here or an applicable legal obligation. We review retained records when their purpose ends or a deletion request is received, and delete or de-identify information that is no longer needed. Records necessary to investigate an unresolved action are minimized rather than retained indefinitely in full. Requests are handled manually by Ross at the contact address below. Automated expiry is not currently implemented. Deletion from provider systems and backups follows their applicable processes and retention constraints; we communicate unresolved limitations when responding to a request.
Your choices and requests
Contact ross@mclaughlingolf.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information held by McLaughlin Golf through this app. Include your relevant Facebook or Instagram username and enough context to locate the records. Do not send passwords, access tokens or identity documents unless we establish a necessary, secure verification process with you.
We may ask for proportionate information to verify a request and prevent unauthorized deletion or disclosure. We handle verified requests promptly, subject to applicable requirements, and explain any records we must retain and why. See our Data Deletion Instructions for the request process.
